The ranking system of universities "based on scientific performance" (URAP) results with the participation of 71 Iranian institutions among the top 3000 institutions in the world was announced. In the 2023 ranking, the University of Guilan ranked among the best universities in the world with a global rank of 1136 and 24 nationally.
