The University of Guilan, as the Iranian secretariat of the Association of State Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Sea region countries, celebrates "Caspian Day" on August 12, marking the implementation of the Tehran Convention to protect the environment of this sea on August 12, 2006. The University of Guilan aims to enhance cultural, educational, and research cooperation among member universities per the Secretariat and Tehran Convention. Measures that have been implemented and are currently underway in this field include the formation of the database of the Association, the signing of bilateral or multilateral agreements, and exchange programs, and the establishment of the infrastructure to foster the language of the member countries of the Association.
