The 26th annual meeting of the Association of State Universities and Research Centers of Caspian Sea Region Countries began in Astrakhan, Russia, with a delegation from The University of Guilan, the Iranian secretariat of this association.
Also, under the supervision of the University of Guilan, Mazandaran University, Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Imam Khomeini (RA) Qazvin International University, The University of Guilan of Medical Sciences by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, and the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran, were present at the meeting.
This meeting will continue at the Astrakhan State University of Russia on October 19 and 20, and university delegations from the countries of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan will discuss and exchange opinions on the most important axes of multilateral cooperation.
Association of State Universities along the Caspian Sea in 1375 AH (1996 AD) with the presence of the presidents of The University of Guilan, Mazandaran University and Gorgan University of Science and Natural Resources from Iran, Astrakhan State Technical University, Dagestan State University, Kalmykia University from the Russian Federation Atyrau State University from Kazakhstan and Baku State University from Azerbaijan were formed. This association has 55 members consisting of universities, science and technology parks, and research institutes. Also, in the 19th session of the general assembly of the association, which was held in October 2016 in the city of Makhachkala, the Republic of Dagestan, the University of Guilan was appointed as the Iranian secretariat of the Association of State Universities of Caspian Sea region Countries.
It is worth mentioning that in the 22nd assembly of this association, which was held in October 2019 at The University of Guilan, this university was introduced as the permanent coordinator of Iranian universities. The Iranian Secretariat, as the coordinator of the research and educational activities of the Iranian members of the Association, has duties such as informing about events, coordinating attendance at meetings, following up on the approvals of the annual general assembly, and also creating a platform for consultation among Iranian members.
