Department of Forestry
About
The department of Forestry located in the Faculty of Natural Resources, was established in 1987 to support researches and educations related to forestry science. The Department of Forestry consists of scientists in the field of forestry, forest engineering and forest ecology with various multidisciplinary fields. Currently, the department has 9 full-time faculty members and 188 students. Our mission is to create, extend and disseminate applied and theoretical scientific knowledge of the forest science and related sub-branches.
Duties and Missions:
As foresters, we study different features of the forest from different perspectives. In research and education, with emphasis on forest conservation and ecosystem services, we try to provide the economic values of the forest to the local society in a favorable way. Since forests play an important role everywhere in the world in mitigation of global warming, we base these principles on the research and trainings related to the preservation, creation and development of forests. We have an interdisciplinary approach to studying the environment and are committed to addressing the current climate crisis through teaching and research.
