Department of Architecture
About
The activity of the architecture department started in 1988 at the associate of sciencelevel. This course continued its activity until 1999 under the Faculty of Engineering. In 1994, with the academic support of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Universityof Shahid Beheshti, the Department of Architecture started the master's degree program. In 1997, the Department of Architecture began to set out the non-continuous master's degree starting from the associate of science degree, which continued its activity until the end of 1998.
In 1999, according to the policies of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the continuous master's course ended its activity and the first bachelor of science course in architecture began its activity. The non-continuous master's degree in architecture from the B.S. degree started in 2008. The admission of non-continuous master's degree students in the Pardis of the University of Guilan began in 2008. Annually, the department of architecture accepts students in the fall semester, and currently, about 400 students study B.S.

The Department of architecture offers undergraduate and graduate programs .The architecture department accepts students in the fall and winter semesters. Currently, there are 300 students studying in the bachelor's course in architectural engineering.

Facilities and Equipment

In terms of physical amenities, the department of architecture has 8 spacious studios for practical courses and four classrooms for theoretical courses. Other facilities of the architecture department include the library, archive of students' projects and the computer site.

TeachingThe courses offered here are designed to help meet with the widespread needs specially-educated manpower in architecture. Intensive studio works are provided in which the students learn how to design building complexes, individual communities and regions. The studio works include collection of urban data, analysis of the collected data, projections of urban structures and construction of physical models.

ResearchMain mission of this department is to improve the level of research activities in both qualitative and quantitative perspective, development of research infrastructure, improvement of innovation and entrepreneur ship and commercialization of research findings based on society needs.
