Libraries

University of Guilan's Central Library has one of the greatest archives among state universities in Northern Iran, with over 170000 books (in Persian, English, Russian, French and Germen). There is also a database with numerous domestic or foreign electronic books and articles. Information about all the books in UG's Central Library can be accessed through the portal olib.guilan.ac.ir. Through this website it is possible for students to reserve books beforehand or to extend the returning date of their currently borrowed books. New students are required to activate their accounts by visiting the central library.

There are also two different study halls at the Central Library (one for girls and one for boys) and there is free Wi-Fi available for the students. Moreover, each faculty has a library of its own which students can use to borrow books or to study.

The Central Library is an open-access library. The number of books students can borrow at the same time is as follow:

Undergraduate students can borrow up to 3 books for 2 weeks (further extension possible).

Graduate students can borrow 7 books for 1 month (further extension possible).
